Soupy fog and traffic crashes made headaches for commuters in the Houston region early Wednesday morning.
A two-vehicle wreck snarled traffic on the southbound Eastex Freeway near Laura Koppe about 7 a.m., according to Houston TranStar.
Officials said no information was available about possible injuries or what caused the crash. However, heavy fog shrouded the area near the wreck site at the time of the pileup.
The wreck forced officials to temporarily block two lanes near the crash site while emergency crews worked to clear the area.
Dense fog dropped visibility is some spots in the metropolitan area dropped to less than a quarter of a mile, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters cautioned motorists to drive slowly and use low-beam headlights.
