Authorities have identified two men who died in when a driver lost control of a car and slammed into a utility pole in northwest Harris County.

The single-vehicle crash occurred about 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 5100 block of Breen, near Antoine, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Edwin Alvarado and Deverick Hardy died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Deputies said Alavardo was driving his mother's red Nissan Sentra westbound on Breen when he failed to remain in a single lane and veered from the road. The car plowed into a ditch, hit a utility pole and flipped onto its roof. Hardy was a passenger in the car.
