A suspected drunken driver was arrested after a man died in a crash on Texas 6 in southwest Harris County Tuesday morning.
Michael Irvin Clark died in the three-vehicle wreck about 1:40 a.m. in the 3900 block of south Highway 6, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies said Clark died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Deputies said the driver of a 2004 red Ford Expedition was traveling northbound on Highway 6 when he failed to control his speed and hit the back of a 2006 silver Nissan Altima, which was also northbound on the road.
The SUV then veered across the raised median into oncoming traffic and slammed into a 2001 white Chevrolet Astro van driven by Clark.
Deputies said the driver of the SUV was arrested for intoxication manslaughter after it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol.
