Authorities are searching for a man they say brandished a handgun while he robbed a convenience store Thursday in Fort Bend County.

The robbery happened about 11:10 a.m. at the Valero Corner Store in the 14100 block of Bissonnet, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office

Deputies said a clerk told investigators a masked man walked into the store, pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. Then the suspect climbed over the counter, grabbed some cash and dashed out of the store.

The man was described as being between about 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim. He wore a navy blue or black hoodie, tan or khaki-colored pants and white shoes. He had the mask pulled over his nose and face and a backpack or satchel slung on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-4665 or Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS. Crime Stoppers tips can also be submitted online at www.fortbend-tx-crimestoppers.org. Tips can also be sent by text message. Text the tip to CRIMES (274637).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the suspect's arrest of charges being filed against him.
