A game room security guard was shot and critically injured Thursday during what police believe was a robbery at a southwest Houston business, authorities said.

The security guard, believed to be in his 50s, was shot in the head and taken to an area hospital, where he is in serious condition, said Josh Horn, a Houston Police Department homicide division investigator.

The guard was shot at about 12:30 p.m. at the business in the 10900 block of Bissonnet, near Wilcrest.

Details of the shooting have not been released by late Thursday.

Horn said money was taken from the business and the motive appeared to be robbery.

The security guard's firearm may have been removed during the incident, Horn said.

Authorities are searching for two or more people who fled in possibly a maroon Nissan Sentra, Horn said.

No further information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact HPD's homicide division at 713–308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
