A man died after he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed through a chain link fence, sinking into the Buffalo Bayou overnight.
The driver of a green Ford Ranger pick-up truck was travelling northbound on North Cesar Chavez around midnight Sunday at a high rate of speed when he failed to control the vehicle, police said.
He crashed through the fence at the 6700 block of Avenue W, causing the truck to go airborne and into the bayou.
An HPD dive team was called in and with the help of a wrecker service, the vehicle was recovered with the driver inside.
The man's identity is pending verification with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
