A Montgomery County sheriff's deputy shot at a man suspected of using a stolen credit card at The Woodlands Mall Wednesday, authorities said.
The sheriff's office was notified around noon that a man was attempting to use a stolen credit card. Mall security spotted the man and relayed his position in the parking lot to sheriff's deputies, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy approached the car and the man inside refused to open the door for the deputy before backing his Jaguar into a mall security vehicle and driving forward toward the deputy. The deputy fired his gun once and hit the man's front windshield.
Taud Damonn Washington, 41, surrendered and was taken into custody. Washington will be charged with aggravated assault, the sheriff's office said.
Additional charges are possible depending on a credit card abuse investigation, officials said.
