The body of a 52-year-old man was found floating face down in a Texas City retention pond over the weekend.
Officials said Wilbert Raymond Hill drowned in a pond between the northeast side of the Amburn Oaks subdivision and the end of Brown Street near FM 1765.
Two people walking in the area discovered his body about 1:15 p.m. Friday and alerted authorities.
Texas City police and fire department officials pulled the body to shore that afternoon.
Autopsy results from the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office tentatively said the cause of death was drowning, pending toxicology results.
