Westport weather: Bright start to the new year

7:10 am, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 -- The new year dawns today on a fairly bright note, with mostly sunny weather in the forecast for southwestern Connecticut through the weekend. Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 20 degrees and a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
