On Saturday, Oct. 19, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the Westport Weston Family Y will be open just to fourth- to seventh-graders for the Y's second Youth Fun Night of the school year.
Scores of tweens and teens filled the Family Y on Saturday, Sept. 28, for the kick-off event this fall. Activities include swimming, basketball, table tennis, bingo and other board games plus refreshments.
"The Y was one of the first places my parents let me come alone with my friends," Y Member Riley Baker said in a release. "I had wanted to go to the movies and places, but I had much more fun at the Y Fun Nights with all of my friends. We all got together and had a great time."
Youth Fun Night is open to all fourth- through seventh-graders in Westport and Weston schools and costs $15 for sign-ups by 5 p.m. the day of the event. The cost is $20 to register at the door.
To register online or for more information, visit www.westporty.org. Participants must bring a completed code of conduct form, available online, or have a parent come in and complete one when they drop off their child. Parents of youth with special needs who need assistance can contact Meg at email@example.com or 203-226-8981, ext. 179 to match a volunteer or staff member with their child. The Family Y also welcomes volunteers, with children of volunteers admitted free.
