Four school-vacation programs are being offered by Westport Weston Family Y during the week of April 15 to 19, when Westport public schools will be closed.
The programs are open to nonmembers as well as Y members, and include swim instruction, a combined swim-and-gym program, a program of morning field trips following by afternoon swimming, and a program geared to toddlers. Guest passes and daily drop-in activities also are available.
Special programs include:
Splash! Week: A learn-to-swim program designed to introduce young children to water safety and swimming basics. Several morning sessions are scheduled for ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 12. All will feature 30-minute swim lessons Monday through Thursday and an open swim on Friday. Fee: $20 for five daily half-hour lessons.
Vacation Gymnastics and Swim Camp: The camp is for kids 6 and older and will be from noon to 4 p.m. Participants must be able to swim without a flotation device and should bring a snack and drink each day. Fee: $165 for the week or $40 per day.
School Vacation Program: For kids in kindergarten through sixth grade, the program features morning field trips and swim time in the afternoon. Drop-off at the Y begins at 7 a.m. with pick-up as late as 6 p.m. For more information or to register a child, contact Tasha Dennison, senior director for child care and school age, at 203-226-8981, ext. 113, or email@example.com. The Y did not list a fee for this program.
Toddler Adventure Gym: From 9 to 11 a.m., toddlers 6 months to 4 years old can explore bouncy cushions, mini-slides and other tyke-size equipment in the gynastics center. Fee: $10 per session.
