Y family fest open to public Oct. 14

The Westport Weston Family Y is opening its Mahackeno Outdoors Center to the public for its seventh annual Fall Family Fiesta on Sunday Oct. 14.

The free event is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. at the center, off Route 33.

Activities include pumpkin decorating, face painting, a scavenger hunt and inflatable play areas. Visitors also may use the Y's rock-climbing wall and zip line, the Y said.

Hot dogs, salads, snacks and beverages will be available, and exhibitions include a performance by the Y's Gymnastics Showtime team and a cooking demonstration by Solarize Westport.
