The Westport Woman's Club is accepting applications from nonprofit groups for a $5,000 grant to fund a project that would make a continuing difference in the community.

The club's Ruegg Grant is awarded annually for a program related to the arts, education or health and safety, and the club said it will be accepting program proposals through Feb. 28.

The grant was established in 1995 by an endowment left to the club by former member Lea Ruegg.

Nonprofits' program proposals should be sent to the Westport Woman's Club Ruegg Grant Committee, 44 Imperial Ave., Westport CT 06880.
