Amber Jean-Louis, 25, of Norwalk, was charged Tuesday by Westport police with being a fugitive from justice in Alabama.
Jean-Louis was pulled over on Post Road East after an officer ran a computer check on the registration plate of her vehicle and discovered that she appears to be wanted in Alabama for being a fugitive from justice, which is an extraditable warrant, police said.
Jean-Louis matched the description of the wanted person, police said.
After the warrant was confirmed, Jean-Louis was taken into custody and held overnight pending arraignment Wednesday in Norwalk Superior Court.
Jean-Louis was originally charged with failure to appear and obstructing justice.
