Shayquan Vega, 22, of Bridgeport, was charged Tuesday around 5 p.m. with failure to display license plates, misuse of license plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and theft of a license plate.

Vega was stopped after an officer noticed she had no front license plate on her car, the police said.

Her car's rear plate traced back to a plate stolen from another vehicle, the police said, while her car's registration was found to be cancelled.

Officers confiscated Vega's rear license plate and a towing company took the car from the scene.

Vega was released on a promise to appear Sep. 2 in Norwalk Superior Court.
