Woman charged with shoplifting at Home Goods

A woman was charged with shoplifting Friday night at the Home Goods store on Post Road East.
Christina Egan, 43, of Surrey Trail, Newtown, was charged with fifth-degree larceny (shoplifting) and possession of a shoplifting device.
Egan was arrested after store security personnel at Home Goods observed her stealing several items around 7:15 p.m., according to a police report.
Egan, after being approached by security, ran from the store and was chased into the parking lot where she was taken into custody, police said.
Bond was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear May 19 in Norwalk Superior Court.
