Woman charged with forging prescriptions in Westport

Palmira Escaleira, 46, of Bridgeport, surrendered to police Friday night on a warrant for a forged prescription.
Escaleira worked at the Westport Family Health clinic on Post Road East, where she police said stole and forged prescriptions and had them filled.
Escaleira was charged with illegally obtaining controlled drugs, second-degree forgery, criminal impersonation and sixth-degree larceny.
She was released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 16 in Norwalk Superior Court.
