A 31-year-old New Jersey woman has been charged in Westport with falsifying doctors' prescriptions in order to obtain narcotics, according to police.
Nadine Mahmoud of Lawrence Harbor, N.J., was charged last week with third-degree forgery, obtaining controlled drugs by fraud and possession of a controlled substance. She turned herself in to Westport police Dec. 18.
Her arrest stems from a several weeks-long investigation into Mahmoud's falsifying the prescriptions, police said.
She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
