A Willowbrook Drive woman was charged Sunday morning with durnken driving and other traffic violations.

Danielle Yingling, 53, faces charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive right and traveling unreasonably fast.

Police received reports that a vehicle was being driven erratically in the area of Canal Street about 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The callers provided a description of the vehicle, license plate and the direction of travel, according to a police report.

Prior to stopping Yingling, the officer observed the driver commit several motor vehicle violation, the report said.

"In speaking with the operator the officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath," according to the report.

The driver, identified as Yingling, failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest.

Yingling posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear April 30 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
