Dana Gillespie, 21, of Newton, Mass., was charged with charged with driving under the influence Sunday morning on Wilton Road.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Wilton Road and Sunny Lane to check a report of a vehicle driving erratically because of a flat tire, police said. Gillespie's vehicle was found traveling south on Wilton Road, police said. An officer saw Gillespie make a left turn on Sunny Lane and as it did, she almost struck the guardrail, police said. The right-front tire was completely off the wheel and the right-rear tire was flat and shredded off, police said.

After Gillespie stopped, an officer noticed a "distinct and pronounced odor" of alcohol, police said. Gillespie was unaware that she was traveling on two steel wheels rims, police said. Her eyes were glassy and her speech was slow and slurred, police said. Gillespie also failed a field sobriety test, police said.

Gillespie was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She was released on $1,000 bond.
