John and Joanna Moody of Westport have been honored with a special award from the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County for their financial support and volunteer hours worked for the organization.

John Moody received the Alexis de Tocqueville Award for his work as chairman and treasurer of several committees, including the resource development and finance committees.
