Holocaust survivor and Westport resident Anita Schorr, and Westport residents Julie and Robert Haroun, were honored by the Upper Fairfield County Anti Defamation League at its recent centennial gala.

The three Westport residents were given the League's Distinguished Community Leadership Award at the event on Nov. 10. Easton residents Bonnie Slyn and David Ball were also recognized with the award.

Weston First Selectman Gayle Weinstein, who received the award in 2012, was the moderator for the program, "ADL: Connecticut's Leader in the War Against Hate," which illustrated the variety of ways ADL makes a difference in Fairfield County and throughout the state.

The Anti-Defamation League is a nonprofit organization devoted to fighting anti-semitism, racism and other forms of bigotry. Visit www.adl.org for more information.
