An exhibit of mixed-media paintings by Westport artist Jak Kovatch will be on display from Sunday, Jan. 8, to March 4 at the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan.

The exhibit will feature works from an ongoing series Kovatch began in 1992 that combines ink etching with oil painting technique on printmaking or watercolor papers, the gallery said.

The multimedia works include paintings, sculptures and works on paper created by the artist.

A Los Angeles native, Kovatch has worked in printmaking, animation, and theater set design.

Kovatch is a former professor of design at the University of Bridgeport and currently teaches drawing at the Silvermine Art School.
