Today should be the warmest so far this year, as the daytime high rises to about 80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, before nighttime storms cool things off a bit.

After early-morning clouds clear from the region, skies should remain bright for most of the day, pushing the temperature upward before clouds move in. There will be a light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight, the NWS says there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures dropping into the upper-50s and a south wind 6 to 8 mph.

Tomorrow, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are possible through afternoon as skies remain mostly cloudy and the temperature rises to about 70 degrees. Chance of daytime precipitation is 70 percent.

The threat of unsettled conditions -- and both rain and strong winds -- remains in the forecast for tomorrow night as the temperature drops to a low in the mid-50s. There will be a southwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of nighttime precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 70 degrees. Night skies will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the upper-40s.

The outlook for Monday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 60s.
