Today should be sunny and warm, but the National Weather Service says that tonight could be a different story.

The daytime high temperature in southwestern Connecticut is expected to rise to the low-80s under sunny skies with a north wind 6 to 8 mph becoming west.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely late tonight and into early tomorrow, the NWS says. The overnight temperature will dip to a low in the mid-60s with a southwest wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Tomorrow, scattered showers and thunderstorms are again likely through late afternoon, as clouds prevail and the temperature rises to a high in the mid-70s. There could be a few more showers tomorrow night, and the low temperature will be in the upper-50s.

Tuesday, there remains a chance of showers -- and possibly thunderstorms -- throughout the day. Otherwise, however, skies are expected to be partly cloudy and the temperature will rise to the mid-70s. There is still a chance of showers Tuesday night and low temperatures will register about 60 degrees.

The outlook for Wednesday, the weather service says, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the upper-70s.
