Westport weather: Snow 'shadows' weekend outlook

The chance of light snow "shadows" this Groundhog Day in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
And even though this morning is partly sunny, the NWS predicts clouds will gradually increase and snow is possible this afternoon after 4 p.m. (20 percent) and later tonight (60 percent).
The daytime high temperature is expected to reach about 30 degrees, with a west wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
With light snow likely overnight, the NWS says the temperature will dip to a low about 20 degrees, with a west wind 5 to 9 mph.
Tomorrow -- Super Bowl Sunday -- there is another chance of light snow, mainly before 2 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature about 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. There also could be light snow overnight, the NWS says, as the temperature registers a low of about 20 degrees.
Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low 30s. It also will be breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature about 20 degrees.
Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature near 30 degrees. Tuesday night, there is a chance of light snow with a low temperatures in the low-20s. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is for possible snow, partly sunny and temperatures in the 30s.
