Westport weather: Showers fall, temps rise

The stretch of occasional showers, which dampened the weekend, is expected to continue today as the work week starts, although temperatures are likely to rise to an unseasonably warm 60 degrees.
The National Weather Service says that, in addition to showers, there will be patchy fog in parts of southwestern Connecticut through midday. There will be a southwest wind 8 to 10 mph., while the odds of precipitation are about 80 percent, the NWS says.
Tonight, more showers are expected, accompanied by patchy fog, as the temperature dips to a low in the low-40s. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, but colder, with temperatures rising only to a high in the upper-40s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the upper-20s.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Wednesday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 30 degrees.
Thursday also should be sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the low-30s.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the 40s.
