After the battering that southwestern Connecticut suffered two days ago at the hands of Hurricane Sandy, the minor threat of showers today in comparison is positively balmy.
The National Weather Service said there is a 30 percent chance of showers in late-morning, under cloudy skies as the daytime high temperature rises to the mid-50s.
Tonight, there is also a slight chance of showers as skies remain cloudy and the temperature dips to about 40 degrees. The chance of precipitation is about 20 percent.
There also is a chance of showers tomorrow as cloudy conditions prevail and the high temperature registers in the mid-50s, the NWS says. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Skies remain cloudy tomorrow night and the low temperature is about 40 degrees.
On Friday, there is a slight chance of showers after noon. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the mid-50s. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Friday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature sipping to the upper-30s.
Saturday, however, is expected to be the first generally nice day in about a week as the skies turn sunny with a high temperature in the mid-50s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the mid-30s.
The outlook for Sunday, the weather service says, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the low-50s.
