The streak of nice weather that southwestern Connecticut has enjoyed since last week is expected to end today with unsettled conditions right through the week's end, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain -- possibly even thunderstorms -- are possible periodically throughout the day, with a daytime high temperature in the upper-60s and an east wind 10 to 14 mph. Odds of daytime precipitation are 100 percent, the NWS says.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also possible tonight, and patchy fog may settle over parts of the region. The overnight temperature will dip to a low in the low-50s, with a southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of overnight precipitation is 40 percent.

More rain, as well as thunderstorms, are possible tomorrow before 8 a.m., with a high temperature in the upper-60s. Chance of daytime precipitation is 80 percent. Showers are likely at night, the NWS says, as the temperature dips to a low in the low-50s. Odds of overnight precipitation are 60 percent.

There remains a 30 percent of showers and thunderstorms after midday Friday, the NWS says. Otherwise, skies are partly sunny, with a high in the mid-70s. Nighttime brings a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low temperature in the mid-50s.

On Saturday, showers are likely under cloudy skies and temperatures cresting at about 70 degrees. Chance of daytime precipitation is about 60 percent. There is the same likelihood of showers Saturday night, with temperatures in the low-50s.

The outlook for Sunday, according to the weather service, is cloudy, possible showers and temperatures in the 60s.
