Rain will fall today across southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service, with periodic downpours possible -- even thunderstorms after 1 p.m.

The day will be relatively mild as temperatures reach about 50 degrees. It will also be breezy, with a south wind between 17 and 20 mph, gusting as high as 33 mph.

Showers are still in the forecast tonight and into the early-morning hours tomorrow. The temperature will fall to about 29 degrees with a blustery northwest wind gusting up to 38 mph.

Tomorrow should be sunny, with a high near 41 degrees and a blustery north wind, says the NWS. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

On Wednesday, skies will be mostly sunny, with a daytime high temperature near 43. The low at night will fall to about 23 degrees.

Thursday, according to the weather service, will be sunny, with a high near 33.
