Westport weather: Light snow, chilling temps ahead

The weather for this Martin Luther King Jr. Day begins with partly sunny skies, but clouds will gather this afternoon with the possibility of snow showers.
The National Weather Service says that light snow could fall after 4 p.m. today, while the daytime high temperature will rise to the mid-30s. There will be a light and variable southwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
There remains a chance of snow showers tonight and into early morning Tuesday, as the temperature falls to a low of about 20 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tomorrow is expected to be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-20s. There will be a blustery northwest wind 17 to 20 mph. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with the temperature plunging to a low about 10 degrees -- and a wind chill as low as zero with the west wind 14 to 16 mph.
On Wednesday, there is a slight chance of snow showers after noon, the NWS says. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-20s. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Wednesday night will be cloudy, with a low temperature about 10 degrees.
Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-20s. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-teens.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is cloudy and a 50 percent chance of show, with temperatures in the 30s.
