Westport weather: Fog lifts, but showers loom

After areas of dense fog blanketing southwestern Connecticut burn off later this morning, this holiday observance of Veterans Day is expected to be partly cloudy and warm.
The National Weather Service days that, after skies begin to clear by midday, the daytime high temperature is expected to rise to the low-60s. There will be a light south wind 9 to 14 mph.
Tonight, however, there is a chance of rain or drizzle between midnight and 3 a.m. tomorrow. With more patchy fog, the overnight temperature is expected to dip to about 50 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent, the NWS says.
Tomorrow, showers are expected, mainly before noon. The high temperature should be in the low-50s, with the odds of precipitation rated about 80 percent. Nighttime should be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the low-30s.
Wednesday is expected to be sunny, with a high temperature about 50 degrees. Wednesday should be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the low-30s.
Thursday will be mostly sunny, the NWS says, with a high temperature near 50 degrees. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-30s.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the low-50s.
