Today marks the start of a cool but comfortable weekend -- and beyond -- in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies today will be mostly sunny, with a daytime high temperature of about 59 degrees. There will be northwest wind between 3 and 11 mph, the NWS says.

Tonight will be clear, with the overnight low temperature tumbling to about 40 degrees. There will be a light north wind.

Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high near 62 degrees. Nighttime will turn partly cloudy, with a low around 45 degrees.

Monday will be partly sunny, with a high again the in low-60s. There is a slight chance of showers before midnight Monday, with a low temperature around 50. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday also promises to be mostly sunny, the weather service predicts, with a high temperature in the low-60s.
