Bright and sunny days are in the forecast for southwestern Connecticut today and tomorrow, with cooler temperatures that give the first hint of fall's approach.

The daytime high temperature will rise from the overnight low in the 50s to the upper 70s under sunny skies, with a west wind of 8 to 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 60 degrees.

Tomorrow will be the same, the NWS says: Sunny, high temperature in the upper-70s. Overnight, some clouds move in as the temperature falls to the low-60s.

On Thursday, there's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon, the NWS says. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 82 degrees. There is still a chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow night, with a low temperature in the mid-60s.

Clear weather is expected to return Friday, as the weather service predicts sunny skies with a high near 79 degrees.
