The forecast for today's Veterans Day observances is a bright one, with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50 degree range.

But at the same hour that many of the ceremonies traditionally take place -- 11 a.m. -- the National Weather Service has issued an advisory for potential coastal flooding for Westport and the rest of southwestern Connecticut. That warning is in effect through 4 p.m. today. So the potential for flooding, because of higher-than-usual tides and winds, could result in minor flooding in low-lying areas.

Tonight, according to the NWS, will be clear and temperatures will dip into the mid-30s.

Friday also should be sunny and clear, with temperatures in the mid-50s again.

And the weekend outlook is a good one, according to the forecast. Both Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with temperatures as high as 60 degrees.
