Today is expected to be mostly sunny in southwestern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says, before clouds move in tonight.

The daytime high temperature is expected to rise to about 61 degrees, with a northwest wind between 7 and 17 mph.

As clouds increase later in the day, the temperature will tumble to the mid-40s, the NWS says. There will be a northwest wind between 5 and 8 mph, later becoming calm.

Tomorrow there is a chance of light rain, mainly after 9 a.m. Skies will be cloudy, with a high near 59 degrees. There remains a chance of rain tomorrow night, with temperatures in the upper-40s.

On Thursday, rain is likely and, under cloudy skies, the daytime high will be only about 50 degrees. More precipitation is possible Thursday night, mainly before midnight. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low temperature falling to around 35 degrees.

The sun returns by Friday, the weather service predicts, but the high temperature will be only about 50 degrees.
