Ian Nichols, 27, of Wenatchee, Wash., was arrested Sunday night after police said he became embroiled in a dispute with police.

Police said officers were assisting State Police troopers at the commuter lot at Exit 42 on Weston Road. The call was for an ambulance for a relative of Nichols, police said.

Police said Nichols was extremely belligerent and interfering with the investigation. Nichols "had been drinking and was heavily intoxicated," according to the police report.

At police headquarters, Nichols refused to be fingerprinted, police said.

Nichols was charged with interfering with an officer and failure to submit to fingerprinting. He was released on $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear Jan. 5 in Norwalk Superior Court.
