WESTPORT — A Westport teenager stole a prescription pad from a local pharmacy and wrote himself fraudulent prescriptions, police said.
Last November, Westport police learned that pad of paper used specifically to write prescriptions had been stolen from a Norwalk pharmacy and was being used at another location in Westport to illegally obtain prescription drugs.
A local pharmacy confirmed to police that three fraudulent prescriptions had in fact been filled out at the location. Using video surveillance from the pharmacy, police later identified the suspect as 19-year-old Luke Montgomery, of Westport.
On Friday, Montgomery was apprehended by campus police at Southern Connecticut State University and was transferred to Westport.
Montgomery was charged with obtaining controlled drugs fraud. He was unable to post the $10,000, and he is being held until his court date on Nov. 6.
