Westport shuttle buses won't run until RR service is back on track

With the suspension of Metro-North Railroad service in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Westport Transit District commuter shuttle buses are not running.
The local shuttles, which connect with Westport's rail depots, will resume operation when the railroad service is restored, according to transit district officials.
The same applies to the local after-school shuttle service.
However, door-to-door services for the elderly and people with disabilities in Westport are back in full operation.
In addition, the Coastal Link bus service operating along U.S. Route 1 through Westport is in service.
For service status updates, Westport residents should call 203-299-5170.
