Westport police looking for man who approached young girl

WESTPORT — Police are trying to identify a man who approached a young girl Tuesday morning as she waited for a school bus.
At around 7:20 a.m., police say a juvenile female was approached at her bus stop at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Breezy Knoll by a suspicious male.
The female described him as a white male, age 40 to 50, with brown hair and a bald spot. She said the he first walked up and down Clinton Avenue, then got into an older green Jeep Grand Cherokee.
He asked her twice if she wanted to see the cute dog in the back of his car. She immediately ran home and notified her parents.
The Westport Police Department is working closely with the Westport Board of Education to ensure the safety of students and continue to keep the public informed, according to a prepared statement from police.
