Post-Bible study, cops say things got disorderly
Victoria Hussain, 24, of Norwalk, was charged Monday afternoon with disorderly conduct after she allegedly slapped her boyfriend in the face while he was driving in Westport.
Hussain had reportedly climbed into her boyfriend's car as he left Bible study.
She was released on a promise to appear Aug. 24 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Cops: Man made phone threat to Westport woman
Robert Strada, 34, of Darien, was charged Tuesday afternoon with threatening.
He's accused of making a threatening phone call to a Westport woman in July, after which the police filed for an arrest warrant in his name.
Strada's bond was set for $2,500 and he was scheduled to appear Sept. 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Man busted on drug charges
Louis Defrancesco, 42, of Norwalk, was charged Tuesday with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Defrancesco was reportedly seen driving suspiciously in the Saugatuck area of Westport and was stopped by police. The officer allegedly smelled marijuana in Defrancesco's car and, while conducting a search, found rolling papers on Defranscesco and two marijuana cigarettes in his car.
Defrancesco was released on a promise to appear Sept. 1 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Man arrested on drug, motor vehicle charges
Andrew Hernandez, 25, of Trumbull, was charged Tuesday around 5 p.m. with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Hernandez was reportedly stopped on the Sherwood Island Connector for improperly displaying his vehicle's license plates. When officers approached, they allegedly detected an odor of marijuana.
While searching Hernandez, officers said they found a marijuana bowl and baggie of marijuana in his pocket.He was released on a promise to appear Sept. 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Woman faces motor vehicle charges
Shayquan Vega, 22, of Bridgeport, was charged Tuesday around 5 p.m. with failure to display license plates, misuse of license plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and theft of a license plate.
Vega was stopped after an officer noticed she had no front license plate on her car, the police said.
Her car's rear plate traced back to a plate stolen from another vehicle, the police said, while her car's registration was found to be cancelled.
Officers confiscated Vega's rear license plate and a towing company took the car from the scene.
Vega was released on a promise to appear Sep. 2 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Failure-to-appear arrest
Shawn Stone, 26, of Bridgeport, was charged at 4:30 p.m. Monday with three counts of failure to appear in court. A bail-enforcement agent reportedly brought Stone to police headquarters, where a warrant had been active for his arrest. There were also two arrest warrants active from State Police. Stone's bond was set for $5,000 and he was scheduled to appear Sept. 2 in Norwalk Superior Court.
