WESTPORT — A K-9 search allegedly uncovered heroin in a town resident’s car during a late-night traffic stop.

After pulling over a car just after midnight Dec. 30, an officer found the driver seemed nervous and consequently had his police dog sniff around the vehicle, police said. The dog allegedly detected a small amount of heroin in the car and police arrested the driver, Remington Woodhull.

The 25-year-old resident of Roseville Road in Westport was charged with possession of narcotics. Woodhull was held on a $1,500 bond, and his court date was set for Jan. 10.
