Samantha Goltzer, 21, of 170 Post Road West, was charged with driving drunk Thursday on the Sherwood Island Connector.

Police said Goltzer's car crossed the double-yellow traffic line into the connector's northbound lane before returning to the southbound lane. After she was stopped, an officer reportedly smelled alcohol on her breath when he approached. Goltzer also failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Goltzer was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane. She was released on $500 bond, and is scheduled to appear June 9 in Norwalk Superior Court.
