Four Westport builders of luxury homes won a total of 14 awards in an annual competition sponsored by a statewide builders' and remodelers' trade group.

The HOBI Awards were presented by the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Connecticut during its annual awards dinner Nov. 18 in Southington. The group gives more than 80 awards for custom and spec houses in several price and size ranges, specific rooms, remodeling projects and sales efforts.

Bluewater Home Builders, of 61 Jesup Road, won five awards, while SIR Development, of 943 Post Road East, won four; Miro Builders, of 25 Sterling Drive, captured three and Milton Development, of 1046 Post Road East, won two.

Awards included:

Bluewater Home Builders: Best Fairfield County custom home 5,000 to 6,000 square feet; best multigenerational unit; best spec home $5 million to $6 million; best kitchen under $200,000 and best remodeled kitchen.

SIR Development: Best spec home $3 million to $4 million; outstanding spec home $2 million to $3 million; outstanding special purpose room for his and her play rooms and best builder brochure.

Miro Builders: Best spec home $1 million to $2 million; best residential remodel $500,000 to $750,000; and best "not so big" pool house.

Milton Development: best spec home

$4 million to $5 million and best bath under $100,000.
