Westport-based business to add four stations to radio portfolio

Connoisseur Media LLC, the Westport-based owner of 36 radio stations, has agreed to aquire Buckley Broadcasting of Hartford, owner of four Connecticut stations.

Stations to be acquired in the deal include WDRC-AM/FM in Hartford, a major voice in the state, along with WMMW-AM in Meriden, WWCO-AM in Waterbury and WSNG-AM in Torrington, Buckley announced.

Financial details were not disclosed, and the deal would require approval of the Federal Coimmunications Commission, Bulkley said.

Connoisseur Media, which maintains headquarters at 136 Main St., includes among its Connecticut holdings include WPLR-FM, the New Haven rock station, and others in Fairfield County, according to its website,.

Nationally, the company has stations in about a dozen markets, including Long Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Montana and elsewhere.
