WESTPORT — A Norwalk woman allegedly pocketed payments while working at a Westport hair salon, thefts that were caught on camera installed after the store manager suspected an employee was stealing.
Police said they were called to Supercuts — located at 1799 Post Road East — about a year ago. Surveillance cameras had been installed when the store manager first suspected several months earlier that an employee might be stealing cash from the salon, and footage showed an employee stealing money five times, according to police.
Jessica Lopez, 35, of Woodward Avenue in Norwalk, allegedly pocketed money customers paid for services at the salon while she was working, totaling about $100 in thefts. Lopez turned herself in to police March 28 for the warrant out for her arrest.
She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a $2,500 bond ahead of an April 6 court date.
