Westport Public Library will host a talk by author Lynn Povich on her book "The Good Girls Revolt: How the Women of Newsweek Sued Their Bosses and Changed the Workplace" on Wednesday, March 6, at noon in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

Her book is about the class-action discrimination lawsuit brought against Newsweek by 46 female employees -- including Povich -- in 1970.

The work recounts how women researchers sometimes became reporters, rarely writers, and never editors. When Newsweek published a cover story on the fledgling feminist movement, "Women in Revolt," in March 1970, the women charged the magazine with discrimination in hiring and promotion.

Books will be available for signing and purchase at the event, which is free.
