Westport Library will hold a recorded TED talk by Salman Khan, founder of Khan Academy, a nonprofit organization focused on providing free education, on Thursday, Dec. 6.

It will take place at 10 a.m. in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

In 2004, Khan, a hedge fund analyst, began posting math tutorials on YouTube. Six years later, he has posted more than 2,000 tutorials, which are viewed nearly 100,000 times daily, according to a release.

The academy's library of videos covers K-12 math and science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and even reaches into the humanities with playlists on finance and history.

Each video is about 10 minutes long and designed for viewing on the computer, the release states.
