The Westport Public Library is looking for people to apply for vacancies on the board of trustees.

The trustee appointments are for a four-year term beginning July 1. There are 20 members on the library board, half of whom are appointed by the Representative Town Meeting and half are named by the other trustees.

More information about the role of the library board is available on the Westport Public Library's website, www.westportlibrary.org. There also is a link to the library's Strategic Plan, which sets guidelines for the library in decision-making and budgeting.

Two information sessions are scheduled for interested trustee candidates. Sessions take place April 11 at noon and again at 7 p.m. in the library. Candidates hoping to be considered should attend one of those sessions.

Those interested in applying should e-mail a resume and letter of interest indicating how their work and prior experience might qualify them to be a library trustee, no later than March 31.

The information should be sent to Sandy Young at syoung@westportlibrary.org.
