Westport Library looking for teens' cat videos

The Westport Library is sponsoring a cat video contest for teens as part of the WestportReads program. In the book selected for this year, "My Life in France," by Julia Child and Alex Prud'homme, Julia Child professes her love of cats, particularly her own French cat Minette, who caught mice in he kitchen and stole her heart. The video contest has been announced in honor of her love of Minette and cats in general.

The contest is open to Connecticut residents in grades 6-12.

The videos must be original and 1 to 3 minutes long, and must be submitted by midnight, Monday, Feb. 17.

Videos must be uploaded to the Library's Tumblr account: http://westportlibraryteens.tumblr.com/, using either the name of the video or the name of the person submitting the video. After the video is uploaded, participants must e-mail their name, age, grade and video title to Teen Services Librarian Jaina Lewis at jlewis@westportlibrary.org Winners will be announced on Monday, Feb. 24.
